Ancient Greek Coins - Macedonia - Alexander III (the Great) - Countermarked AR Tetradrachm 197-196 B.C.

Posthumous issue, Perga, Pamphylia mint, dated Year 25. Obv: head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress. Rev: ALEXANDROY with Zeus seated left, right leg drawn back, holding eagle and sceptre; date KE in left field; head of Helios facing countermark below. Good fine.(16.26 grams.).
