Zulu Woman's Beaded 'Ixama' Belt and Photograph of Ms Kokuthula Ncele a descendant of the Owner
20TH CENTURY A.D.
33 in. (300 grams total, belt: 84 cm long).
Woven from Ncema grass with fabric backing, decorated with polychrome beads arranged in the 'mashunka' pattern, and with brass studs at each finial. [No Reserve]
Provenance
Collected September 2003 in the mountains west of Pomeroy, in the Msinga district of Zululand.
