WW2 James H Parker Typed Tank Crew Manuscript Memoir
20TH CENTURY A.D.
8 5/8 x 7 in. (405 grams, 22 x 18 cm).
A typescript soldier's memoir pencil signed 'James H Parker' on the last text page, running from 1940 to 1945 from induction into the British Army Royal Armoured Corps and Matilda tanks, via the D-Day invasions and across Europe until VE Day on 8th May 1945 at Linteg, Germany, with reference to a visit at Stalag 10b and a comment upon the conditions of the prisoners held there; with a number of poems, mostly with pencilled 'JHP' initials to each page of these; pages held in a small format ring binder. [No Reserve]

Private UK family collection formed in the early 1970s.
The property of Mr and Mrs PR of East Sussex.

Produced for the North Irish Horse (60th Imperial Yeomanry) regiment and was presented to a Colonel at some stage in its history. The NIH is a yeomanry unit of the British Territorial Army raised in the northern counties of Ireland in the aftermath of the Second Boer War. -
