Western Asiatic Neo-Elamite Cylinder Seal with Sow and Piglets

6TH-5TH CENTURY BC

1" (5.58 grams, 28mm).

A fusiform banded agate cylinder seal with intaglio design of a sow and three piglets, inscribed with cuneiform text 'Mamat-huban', possibly the name of the owner; accompanied by a museum-quality impression.

Provenance

Ex Bonhams Antiquities sale, 23 October 2013, Lot 82; property of a North London collector; acquired in the 1970s.
