    In the second half of the 2nd millennium B.C., a unique development of daggers can be traced in the Caucasus. Along with the common Middle Eastern types of 'frame daggers, we encounter original local versions with a tubular handle, often with a wide triangular blade, richly decorated on the grip, like their bronze scabbards, with a simple geometric openwork ornament.
