Western Asiatic Bronze Bird Finial
LATE 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
2 1/2 in. (90.3 grams total, 63 mm including stand).
Modelled in the round figure of a bird with long neck extended, stub tail and two small feet; lateral slot to accept separate wings, and vertical hole for suspension; mounted on a custom-made stand. [No Reserve]

From a collection acquired on the UK art market from various auction houses and collections mostly before 2000.
From an important Cambridgeshire estate; thence by descent.
