11 7/8 in. (1.3.9 kg, 30.3 cm wide).
Comprising a kantharos-shaped vessel with tall scrolled handles and applied vine and grapes ornament in dark green, on a rectangular base with applied rosette and acanthus-leaf motifs; separate intact domed rose with graduated holes. [No Reserve]

The bust is characteristic of the taste that prevailed in France since the Italian wars of Napoleon. The quality of the carving is high and stylistically recalls the school of Antonio Canova. -
