Wall Cabinet Containing a Queen Charlotte (1744-1818) Carriage Plate

18TH-19TH CENTURY A.D.

52 x 26 3/4 x 5 1/2 in. (47.7 kg, 132 x 68 x 14 cm).

Bearing the monogram of Queen Charlotte with her arms impaled by those of her husband, King George III (1738-1820) with his crest and supporters set amongst a display of some fifty-six livery and military badges and metalled horse trappings, housed in a glazed wall cabinet with opening front.

Ex Morningthorpe Manor, Norfolk, UK.

Footnotes

The parish of Morningthorpe is situated in south Norfolk, east of Long Stratton and west of Hempnall. The parish was certainly well established by the time of the Norman Conquest, its population, land ownership and productive resources being detailed in the Domesday Book of 1086.
