Viking / Saxon Silver-Gilt Zoomorphic Mount
8TH CENTURY AD
1 1/4" (5.56 grams, 30 mm).
A cast elliptical plaque, hollow to the reverse, with openwork design of two ravens pecking at the underside of a beast's head, with an inverted beast's head below, pierced.

Ex Continental collection; acquired Germany, in 1994.
