Viking Bronze Stirrup Mount Collection
CIRCA 10TH-11TH CENTURY A.D.
1 1/4 - 1 3/4 in. (49.3 grams, 32-43 mm).
Comprising: one mount accompanied by a Portable Antiquities Scheme record, the mount of Anglo-Scandinavian type of Williams' Class A Type 11, triangular in plan with rivet hole to apex displaying a rampant beast two occluded rivet holes below, lip to reverse; a lozengiform type with pellet ornament; a second howling beast type with occluded lower rivet holes and absent apex. [3, No Reserve]
