9TH CENTURY AD

2 1/2" (44 grams, 62 mm).

A cast bifacial openwork roundel with cruciform spokes and central void; the rim octagonal in section with D-shaped plates; to each quadrant an Oseberg Style bird.

Provenance

Property of a London gentleman; acquired in the 1990s.
