Umayyad Caliphate. Pre-reform issues, Imperial Image Coinage CU Fals/Follis. Struck circa AD 680s-690s. Uncertain (Gerasa?) mint. Arab-Byzantine type: Justin II and Sophia.
Justin, holding globus cruciger, and Sophia, holding cruciform sceptre, seated facing on double throne / Large M; above, cross; A Ͷ Ͷ [...] (date) to left and right; A below, OͶI[?] in exergue. Not in the standard references. Near Very Fine. Extremely rare and apparently unpublished variety.(10.03gr, 27mm, 12h.).
