Umayyad Caliphate AE Fals. Time of 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan AH 65-86 (AD 685-705). Qurus(?) (Cyrrhus) mint. Standing Caliph issue. Arab-Byzantine type.
Caliph standing facing, placing his right hand on the hilt of his sword, whip shown as long loop on left side; inscription around / Cross transformed to Φ standing on base and three steps; mint downwards to right; "full weight" upwards to left; inscription around. Cf. Goodwin, Standing Caliph Coinage, p.31, 340; cf. Album 3536 (RRR). Near Very Fine.(2.97gr, 17mm, 12h.).
