Umayyad Caliphate AE Fals. Time of Yazid I ibn Mu'awiya, AH 60-64 (AD 680-683). 'Pseudo-Damascus' mint. Arab-Byzantine type.

Imperial figure standing facing, holding long cross in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left / Large M; above, cross; below, officina mark of inverted crescent; around blundered Arabic legend reading 'darb dimashq ja'iz' (=current issue [of] Dimashq). Cf. Goodwin&Gyselen p. 82, fig. 19, type 97 (for reverse). Near Very Fine. Rare.(2.73gr, 18mm, 2h.).
