Umayyad Caliphate AE Fals. Circa AD 685-690. Hims (Emesa) mint. Arab-Byzantine type.
Crowned imperial bust facing, holding globus cruciger; KAΛON downwards to left, 'bi-hims' in Arabic to right / Large cursive M above exergual line; star flanked by two wavy lines above, EMI-CHC (mintname) flanking, 'tayyib' in Arabic in exergue. Cf. SICA I 549-552. Near Very Fine.(4.60gr, 22mm, 11h.).

Caliph standing facing, wearing long robes, holding pommel of sword; girdle band hanging from elbow; legend around / Transformed cross standing on three steps; 'Amman' in Kufic to right, eight-rayed star to left; around, part of the first Kalima. Cf. SICA I, 718. 3.04gr, 17mm, 9h.
