Tudor Decorated 'TENES LA [F]OY' Silver Posy Ring
15TH-16TH CENTURY A.D.
7/8 in. (2.49 grams, 21.42 mm overall, 18.09 mm internal diameter (approximate size British P, USA 7 1/2, Europe 16.23, Japan 15)).
Barrel-shaped in profile with beaded rims, diagonal bands of beading framing parcel-gilt bands with flower and tendril ornament; legend to inner face in italic capitals 'TENES LA [F]OY' (keep the faith). [No Reserve]

Parallels for the ring type are dated 16th century. A related finger ring is also available in the British Museum collection. The chalice-shaped workmanship of the bezel betrays a strong Italian influence in the workmanship of the ring section.
