Tiberius AE Assarion of Laodicea ad Lycum, Phrygia. AD 14-37. ΚΟΡ(ΝΗΛΙΟΣ) ΔΙΟΣΚΟΥΡΙΔΗΣ (Cornelius Dioskourides II), in office for the second time.
ΣΕΒΑΣ-ΤΟΣ, bare head of Tiberius (?) to right / ΔΙΟΣΚΟΥΡΙΔΗΣ ΛAOΔ-IKEΩN, Zeus Laodiceus standing facing, head to left, holding eagle in his right hand and long sceptre in his left; to right, monogram of KOP. RPC I, 2906; BMC 141-2; SNG Copenhagen 547-8. Near Very Fine. Sand patina.(6.19gr, 20mm, 1h.).

RPC Online footnote: The monogram, which also occurs on Neronian coins of Aineias (2926-7), has been variously interpreted as standing for coronatus (Ramsay), ΚΟΡΝΗΛΙΟΣ (BMC) and ΑΡΧΟ (Wa) Κορ(νήλιος) is correct, as it is spelled out in full on coins of another Dioscurides (under Domitian: KM 266, nos 20-1, von Aulock 3845).
