Thrace, Mesambria AR Tetradrachm. Circa 225-175 BC. In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon.
Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied beneath chin / [Β]ΑΣIΛΕΩΣ [Α]ΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated to left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, holding long sceptre in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing to right with closed wings; to inner left, helmet to right; beneath throne, EΠI. Topalov, Messambria 13; Price 1020; HGC 3, 1567. Good Very Fine. Some delamination.(16.95gr, 30mm, 1h.).
