Thai Bronze Head of Buddha

9TH-12TH CENTURY A.D.

2 7/8 in. (46 grams total, 73 mm including stand).

Formed with arched brows, lentoid eyes, aquiline nose and broad mouth, conical headdress and long lobes to the ears; mounted on a wooden stand.

Provenance

Acquired on the German art market, 1989-1995.

Property of a London based academic, 2003-present.
