STUART PERIOD BRONZE AND IRON COMBINATION PADLOCK
17TH CENTURY A.D.
1 1/2 in. (67 grams, 40 mm).

A cylindrical keyless letter-combination padlock composed of four rotatable discs joined by a bow shackle above; the discs each bearing eleven letters in punched letter type.

PROVENANCE:
Acquired on the UK art market.
Property of a Berkshire, UK, gentleman collector.
This lot is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.
