Group comprising: hand-carved stone zoomorphic oil lamp in the form of an animal (possibly a bear); a stone oil lamp decorated with flowers. [2, No Reserve]

Footnotes
The vessels are hollowed out allowing it to serve as both fill hole and wick and the body is decorated with dot and circle and stylised plant incisions.

The box bears the gummed label of W. & T. Avery Limited of Digbeth Birmingham. According to the company's records, it was incorporated as a 'limited company' in 1894, and moved from its original premises at Digbeth to its long-term base at the 'Soho Foundry' in 1897. -
