Comprising mostly bifacial and uniface leaf-shaped and piriform flint and chert arrowheads; probably from the Sahara region of North Africa. [50, No Reserve]

FootnotesSimilar specimens of arrowheads have been found in the Eastern Sahara Region of Abu Tartur Plateau. Most of the arrowheads came from the El Jarar Neolithic, c. 7700-7300 B.P. (c.6500-6100 B.C.). Other parallels occur in the region of Kharga Oasis.

Jean-Claude Debenne (1936-2020), amateur prehistorian, former member of the French Society of Prehistory and the Prehistoric Association of the South-West, Honorary Member of the Geological Club of Ile-de-France. Collection of flints formed between the 1950s and 1990s and coming from Ile-de-France, Oise and Val-d'Oise. Accompanied by a copy of a French cultural passport.
