LOWER PALAEOLITHIC PERIOD, CIRCA 700,000-300,000 B.P.

4 5/8 in. (177 grams, 11.8 cm).

Piriform in plan with a rounded butt, two inked collection notes 'SNC 7.81 WGS' and '4168/1/28' and a pencilled note '1760'. [No Reserve]

Provenance

Previously in several old Stone Age tool collections, having been annotated with three different accession numbers.
Acquired from an Oxfordshire, UK, auction house.
From the private collection of a West Midlands lady collector.
