South East Asian Bronze Buddha Head Collection
16TH-17TH CENTURY A.D.
2 1/4 - 4 3/8 in. (804 grams total, 5.6-11.1 cm).
Comprising of heads with lentoid half-lidded eyes, wide nose, full curved lips and elongated earlobes; three with rich headdresses and one with pelletted hair and pointed crown. [4, No Reserve]
ProvenanceFrom the private family collection of Ersula Barter-Hemmerich, the longest serving member of staff working at the United Nations, her private collection formed in the 1950s and 1960s; thence by descent to her grandson.
