Roman Silver Dolphin Brooch

2nd century AD

A silver dolphin-shaped brooch, with detailing to the nose, fins, eye and tail; base with remains of pin lug and catchplate. 17 grams, 46mm (1 3/4"). Fine condition.

From the collection of a Surrey gentleman; acquired 1970-1980.
