Circa 4th century AD. A fabricated silver crossbow brooch comprising onion-shaped knops at each end of the arm, with a third centrally above; the c-shaped bow ridged with inlaid niello geometric decoration; the footplate rectangular with chamfered panels to the outer edges, ornamented with addorsed appliqué c-scrolls; the pin and catchplate intact on the reverse.
