Seleukid Empire, Demetrios I Soter AR Tetradrachm. Undated issue, struck 162-155/4 BC. Antioch on the Orontes mint.
Diademed head to right within wreath / Tyche, holding sceptre and cornucopia, seated to left on throne supported by tritoness facing to right; ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ in right field, ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ in left field; monogram of ΓΑ to outer left. SC 1638.1j; BMC 29; HGC 9, 795f. Very Fine. Beautifully toned.(16.43gr, 30mm, 1h.).
