WESTERN ASIATIC SASSANIAN PLATE WITH HORSE
224-651 AD
8 1/2" (404 grams, 21.5cm).

A shallow silver dish with central disc and radiating flutes to the underside, later incised image of an advancing horse with harness, saddle, bridle, plume and dressed tail. Accompanied by an Art Loss Register certificate.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a North London collector; acquired in the 1970s.

LITERATURE:

Supplied with a positive X-Ray Fluorescence analysis certificate.
