Sasanian Style Silver Ring with Gemstone

20TH CENTURY A.D. OR EARLIER

1 3/4 in. (47.11 grams, 46.70 mm overall, 19.23 mm internal diameter (approximate size British P 1/2, USA 7 3/4, Europe 16.86, Japan 16)).

Comprising a D-section hoop, lobe to the underside with inset turquoise cabochon, lobe to each shoulder, applied crocodile supporters on flat cruciform plaque with open mouths, discoid cell inset with garnet cabochon, intaglio crowned profile bust. [No Reserve]

Acquired on the UK art market 1971-1974.
