Sasanian Kingdom. Husrav (Khosrau) I AR Drachm. Dated RY 26 (AD 556). AW (Ohrmazd-Ardaxšir [Ahwāz]) mint.
Bust to right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent, korymbos set on crescent; behind head, 'may he increase' in Pahlawi, before head, 'Khosrau' in Pahlawi; crescent on right shoulder, stars flanking crown, ribbon over each shoulder; all within single border with crescents in margin. Countermark: crowned head to right within circular incuse / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants; to left, date, to right, mint in Pahlawi; star and crescent flanking flames. SSCT -; SC Tehran -. Very Fine. Very well-struck countermark. Very rare.(3.97gr, 31mm, 9h.).
