Roman Silver Trumpet Brooch
2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
3 1/4 in. (7.28 grams, 31 mm).
With chord, spring and pin, and trumpet-shaped headplate; scooped collar to bow and discoid finial at base of flared foot; articulated pin intact; catchplate projecting from the reverse of the lower bow, curving at the outer edge to house the pin. [No Reserve]

Acquired from Coincraft, London, UK.
From the private collection of Kenneth Machin (1936-2020), Buckinghamshire, UK; his collection of antiquities and natural history was formed since 1948; thence by descent.
Accompanied by an original certificate of authenticity from Coincraft.
