1 in. (8.55 grams, 23.94 mm overall, 15.43 mm internal diameter (approximate size British E 1/2, USA 2 1/2, Europe 3, Japan 3)).
Hoop with rounded shoulders set with jasper intaglio of a horse advancing on a baseline; supplied with a museum-quality impression.

Acquired on the UK and EU art market before 2000. From the private collection of a Surrey, UK, gentleman.
Polygonal hoops appear to be generally 4th-century in date. The shape of the ring clearly belongs to the Guiraud type 8 rings. -

From an important London collection of glass, 1990s.
Similar bottles were found in the Cemetery of Ein-Gedi in the Judaean Desert, in a settlement abandoned in 40-37 B.C, and in Homs, Syria, dated to the first half of the first century A.D. These are among the first earliest datable blown bottles.
