Roman Silver-Gilt Crossbow Brooch
3RD-4TH CENTURY A.D.
2 in. (11.36 grams, 52 mm).
With tubular casing round the chord, apex knop finial with double collar, vestigial knops on either side, deep trapezoid-section bow, double collar above the gilt rectangular footplate; catch and hinged pin to the reverse.
