ROMAN PAIR OF FIGURAL CHARIOT FITTINGS
(Bronze and silver, 1.9 kg total, 17 cm.).

Circa 2nd century AD. A pair of cast bronze chariot fittings each formed as a female bust on a hollow octagonal-section tube with sturdy c-shaped loop; the busts each modelled with coiled hair, peplos-style dress with fruit and bands to the neckline; the eyes silvered. [2]
