3RD-4TH CENTURY A.D.
1 1/4 - 5 1/4 in. (900 grams total, 3.1-13.5 cm).
Comprising a large quantity of mixed vessel fragments, mostly displaying part of the base or rim, and a lump of unworked clay; some with old pencilled or inked collection numbers. [No Reserve]

The assembly is linked to the horse harnesses of the 3rd century A.D., characterised by the presence of a peltate application and four decorative elements for the bridle or antilena/postilena straps, and by a massive buckle for the horse's girth strap. -

With an aqua-coloured hemispherical bowl and dark blue glass rim and handle with raised knops to the neck, the bowl with moulded lozengiform 'net' motif with kick-up to base surrounded by a moulded rosette; iridescent surfaces; handle repaired. 88 grams, 19 cm
