1 1/4 in. (11.38 grams, 30.42 mm overall, 19.07 mm internal diameter (approximate size British R, USA 8 1/2, Europe 18 3/4, Japan 18)).
Comprising a braided median band to the hoop flanked by tiered neighbours, square bezel with granule to each corner and one to centre.

Private collection, acquired on the German art market in 1992; thence by descent. This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by search certificate number no.13181-249302.
The gem motif represents a deity, most probably Aphrodite-Venus, although we cannot exclude less important divinities, such as Flora or a nymph. -
