ROMAN BRONZE STANDING HORSE STATUETTE
1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
2 3/8 in. (80 grams, 60 mm).

Modelled in the round as a prancing horse standing on a rectangular plinth base; voluminous mane swept to one side and head turned to the left.

PROVENANCE:
Acquired in the mid 1980s-1990s.
Private collection, Switzerland, thence by descent.
Private collection, since the late 1990s.
This lot is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.

PUBLISHED:
Exhibited at the Harwich Museum, Harwich, Essex, UK, 12th March-9th June 2025; accompanied by a copy of a photograph of the artefacts on display.
