Roman Bronze Pomegranate Chariot Rein Guide Pair
2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
4 1/8 - 4 3/8 in. (2.84 kg total, 10.5-11.1 cm).
Each comprising a square-section socle with stepped top and bottom, surmounted by a globular fruit, probably a pomegranate, with splayed leaves and short stalk; thick round-section handle to one side; incised zigzags to the upper and lower mouldings, body with incised garlands. [2, No Reserve]
