Roman Bronze Plate Brooch

2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.

2 1/4 in. (9.27 grams, 57 mm).

Comprising a ribbed vertical shank and ribbed crossbar with thick loop extending from each end in an arc to meet a rectangular block with punched-pellet ornament; below, a heater-shaped panel with larger and smaller punched pellets, hinged pin to reverse, open bolt catch.
