ROMAN BRONZE MALE STATUETTE
(Bronze, 2.5 kg, 29 cm.).

Circa 4th century AD, provincial. A large hollow-cast bronze statuette of a standing male in a long Ionic chiton with heavy pleating; the head erect, hair drawn up and arms extended; a separate applied collar to the neck; the hands pierced to grip handles; supplied with custom-made stand.

Private collection, Hertfordshire, UK; acquired before 2000.
