Proto-Elamite Silver-Gilt Kneeling Bull-Headed Anthropomorphic Deity
CIRCA LATE 4TH-3RD MILLENNIUM B.C.
2 1/4 in. (27.2 grams, 56 mm).
Hollow-formed on a D-shape footprint, kneeling figure in striped robe draped around the body, arms held across the chest and abdomen with exposed hooves; arched neck with parcel-gilt bull's head and small goatee beard; suspension loop to rear of neck.
Provenance
Acquired by the previous owner on the London art market in the 1980s and kept in London.
This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by a search certificate number no.12413-225443.
