Probus BI Antoninianus. AD 276-282. Uncertain mint.

VIRTVS PROBI AVG, radiate, and cuirassed bust to left, holding spear and shield / SALVS AVG, Salus seated to left on throne, feeding serpent rising from altar to left; XXIII in exergue. Not in the standard references. Very Fine. Apparently unpublished and possibly unique variant.(3.90gr, 23mm, 12h.).

From the collection of a gentleman, acquired on the London art market in the 1990s.
