PREHISPANIC TEOTIHUACAN TERRACOTTA ANIMAL VESSEL
2ND-7TH CENTURY A.D.
2 1/2 in. (82 grams total, 63 mm wide including stand).

Of squat profile with modelled head, forelegs, hindlegs and tail; socket to the centre with lateral holes; mounted on a custom-made stand. [No Reserve]

PROVENANCE:
From the private collection of Zelia Nuttall (1857-1933), American archaeologist and anthropologist; thence by descent to her granddaughter, Christine Mary Frederica Bulmer nee Laughton (1912-2000), via Zelia's daughter Nadine Nuttall Laughton (1882-1967).
From the collection of Christine's niece the late Gillian Bulmer (1935-20-21), Herefordshire, UK.
