Pre-Columbian Toltec Terracotta Anthropomorphic Vessel

12TH-15TH CENTURY A.D.

5 7/8 in. (221 grams, 15 cm high).

Formed as a squash-shaped female figure with pierced ears, a storage jar attached to her back with a band wrapped around her head, the mouth of the model vessel also forming the mouth of the larger vessel, her arms raised to her temples; some remains of polychrome detailing.

Acquired 1970s onwards.
