Pre-Columbian Maya Stone Plaque with Opposing Figures
CLASSIC PERIOD, 3RD-9TH CENTURY A.D.
6 1/8 in. (571 grams, 15.5 cm (663 grams total including stand)).
Scene carved in low-relief comprising a male figure in profile wearing an elaborate segmented headdress, his right arm wearing a bracelet raised towards a profile figure with spiral bands on his headdress, short angled body with foot; hatched field between; traces of old glue to reverse; mounted on a display stand. [No Reserve]
