Post Medieval Silver 'William Wollascott' Hawking Vervel

1604-1637 AD

1/2" (0.54 grams, 12 mm).

A small hunting vervel, annular with a slot to the inner edge, inscribed to one face in a dense italic hand 'Willia[m] +Wollascott* of Shinfelde' and to the other '*near Readinge +in barcke'.

Provenance

Found Micheldever, Hampshire, UK, 2012 (Treasure Act T290-2012) with supporting documentation.
