Post Medieval Renaissance Gold Ring with Spinel and Diamonds
MID-LATE 16TH CENTURY AD
1" (11 grams, 28mm overall, 19.82mm internal diameter (approximate size British T 1/2, USA 9 3/4, Europe 22.0, Japan 21)).
A round-section tapering hoop with volute-scrolled shoulders and rectangular plaque; each shoulder with an inset table-cut diamond, the bezel a cell with convergent sides, pellet detail to the underside, scooped ledges to the outer faces, inset table-cut ruby-coloured spinel.
ProvenanceProperty of a central London collector; acquired from a large private collection formed in the 1980s.
