Post Medieval Painted Wooden Figure of Christ
17TH CENTURY A.D.
16 3/4 in. (444 grams, 42.7 cm).
A carved figure of crucified Jesus Christ with suspension holes on both hands and crossed legs, wearing loincloth tied on a side, set with small red glass cabochons, painted with dark red strokes representing blood; written '500' in black ink to the reverse; possibly Spanish colonial workmanship; some repairs done, chipped. [No Reserve]

From the private collection of a London gentleman, from his grandfather's collection formed before the early 1970s.
