19 1/2 in. (24.4 kg total, 49.5 cm high including stand).
A naturalistic stone bust of a female figure modelled facing with her head turned right and upwards, her garment draped so as to reveal one of her breasts; on a tiered circular base.
Provenance
English private collection.

Modelled on the so-called Capitoline Centaurs, specifically the Young Centaur, which was found as one of a pair of centaurs during the excavation of Hadrian’s Villa in 1736; the Roman Old and Young centaur pair were themselves based on Hellenistic originals.
