17TH-18TH CENTURY AD

3/4" (2.83 grams, 18 mm overall, 16.50 mm internal diameter (approximate size British L 1/2, USA 6, Europe 11.87, Japan 11)).

A D-section hoop with incised scroll ornament to the outer face, engraved to the inner face in a dense italic hand 'Content is a continuall tresure' with long 's' in 'tresure'.

Provenance

Property of an Avon gentleman; found Shipham, Somerset, UK. Disclaimed under the Treasure Act, reference 2013T493, with supporting documentation.
